​100,000 Collin County residents don’t have enough to eat. These nonprofits hope to change that
Two McKinney nonprofits — Alliance of Elite Youth Leadership and Community Lifeline Center — are coming together for a new initiative to help feed Collin County families.

The Feeding Friends and Families program is designed to distribute healthy and high-quality food to anyone in the McKinney area who is experiencing food insecurity because of the COVID-19 pandemic or for any other reason.

Collin County Nonprofits Partner to Feed Friends and Families
Families throughout North Texas continue to be financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, which also impacts their ability to buy food.

A nonprofit in McKinney points to recent numbers from the USDA that "conservatively estimates that there are more than 100,000 Collin County residents who currently do not have enough to eat, including at
least 40,000 Collin County children who go to bed hungry each night."
