Solutions for Navigating Veterans Services
In an effort to foster greater collaboration and communication among veteran service providers and veteran supporters, the Collin County Veterans Coalition (CCVC) was created in November 2012. The mission of the CCVC is to identify, inform and support veterans and their families through education, networking and collaboration.
The coalition’s top priority is to raise awareness about the services that are currently available and to identify what needs are not being met within Collin County. The coalition’s first call to action is create “one stop shop” for navigating veterans services online. That effort is being created in the following ways:
- by partnering with WarriorGateway to utilize its comprehensive database of veterans services nationwide; and,
- by creating a standalone CCVC website, logo, Facebook page. E-news and Twitter feed
In an effort to bring greater collaboration among service providers, the coalition has also formed a work team to implement bi-monthly networking sessions to increase opportunities to grow and build relationships among service providers.
