Yes, Hemingway was challenged to write a six-word story. He wrote “For sale: baby shoes, never used”. A poignant and remarkably short story that tweaks the imagination and touches the heart.

Some stories are a bit more complicated

Veterans struggling to adjust to civilian life, often sidelined by emotional or physical crises; children whose most cherished gift might be a warm meal, or a warm coat; families who are more concerned with staying in their home than decorating them: these are the stories that we hear every day. Nearly 400 people a month – many facing their first crisis – come asking for help. The holiday season is a particularly difficult time for these families, and a time in which your help is most needed.

Community Lifeline Center is a non-profit human services organization based in McKinney. For nearly a quarter of a century CLC has been helping those trying to manage an unexpected crisis to get from Point A to Point B. Help can be in the form of short term financial help for rent or utilities, job search assistance, medical or dental care, or other basic services.
